A Good Party Experience

Phi SLam party was so... encouraging.

My third frat party.  The experience has gotten better with each time.  First time was just plain disgusting, there's no need to deny.  Second time was an awesome party for people who were drunk, high, or both.  Phi Sigma Lambda is a Christian frat (I laughed when I first heard of its existence), and it's dry.  I missed their blow-up themed party in the beginning of the semester, so I decided to go to this one, which was.. uh, something like, "Frozen Frosty Icy Arctic Tundra Fundra."

First off, I was a narwhal.  My roommate Caitlin was an ice skater.  I saw a group of adorable reindeer guys and a couple of Jack Frosts and some Christmas trees and ice queens... hmm anyway, the music was... cute.  The whole party was cute.  It was like an amazingly decorated, outdoor high school dance party with people in costumes.  Except cleaner than a high school dance, if you can imagine.  The DJ spun half 90s songs and half Christian rap... and a few normal club songs.  I found it hilarious.  It was my second time dancing to Christian rap... first time being at the 40.  It was funny because most people had no clue that the rapper was saying stuff like "my Father" and "I've been redeemed."  But it was so cute.  The moment I walked through the "ice-block" doorway there were people in wintry outfits offering me hot chocolate with marshmallows and peppermint bark.  I had like five squares of peppermint bark.  Then, there were hundreds of sober people dancing and snatching at fake snow in the air and dancing and having fun.  It was so uplifting.  Like... "omg, these young people are a proof that the world still has hope."  Everyone was bundled up, able to greet people without slurring, and there wasn't even a grinding scene.  That can't be true... Am I going crazy?

Oh my, it was great.  I'm glad I went.

There will come a day when I miss living in America, a full American except on paper.

So I'd better suck it up and live every day, every second with gratitude and make the most out of it.

  1. As happy as this post is supposed to be...

I see it as one of your saddest.

Please don't concede! Don't accept injustice.

    This fight isn't over.
