First time I ever thought of something (good) right before falling asleep and I actually ended up dreaming about it.
This time my mom and I were in a room, something that seemed like a really nice, homey hotel room (but I think it was my room). She told me about the struggles she had as a Korean woman in marriage...
You know how some "dreams come true"? This is a backwards dream-come-true in a sense that my true wishes came to my dream. And that's as real as these wishes of mine could ever get in this life.
I've placed so much importance on dreams of my mom that what she has told me and done in my dreams are starting to blend in with my memories with her in real life.
But I count these dreams as real life, as real memories and blessings. What stories and advice she tells me in my dreams, which is arguably all fabricated in the depths of my nervous system, I consider them all genuinely from her from above. A way of her telling me and me getting to hear what I never got to hear.
Also, God gave me a bonus today -- we hugged, slightly tearfully out of understanding, I think, and in the hug I spoke next to her warm, Mom-sy ear, "사랑해요, 엄마 (I love you, Mom)."
Her birthday is today. My mother, a beautiful, strong woman of Christ who shapes everything I am. No matter the lack of sleep and 14-hour schedule today, I'm going to have a happy day for her.
